Max travels around Egypt - Part 6

Max went on a walk around Old Cairo and saw the Tower of Babylon ruins. He had heard about these towers from the Bible.

Max went walking along very old alleyways and was told that the Holy Family travelled through here and lived in this area when they were hiding from people who were trying to hurt baby Jesus. He visited a very old church, called the Floating Church, and visited another church and saw a cave where the Holy Family had hidden. He said a prayer for everyone back in Australia and felt a bit homesick because he heard children singing and thought of his friends back in Australia.

Max’s next journey was to Alexandria by bus. He had to get up early and was very excited about going to see the Mediterranean Ocean.

When Max got to Alexandria he saw a large fortress. He was surprised that they had these in Egypt. It looked awesome and he thought it would stop any enemy from invading.

It was such a beautiful day beside the ocean that Max was feeling a bit hot. He decided to take in a bit of sun.

Max went for a walk along the water and liked this hotel beside the water. He though he would like to come back and visit here again and stay here.

Next Max visited the very large library of Alexandria. The original library was burnt by Julius Caesar when he invaded Egypt.

Different countries throughout the world helped Egypt to build a new library. It is very large inside and Max had to be on his best behaviour.

When he got back to Cairo that night Max was very tired and had to have a rest with his friend Jenny in their hotel room.
