Max in East Timor - Libraries (Part 2)

Max traveled for 6 hours in a bus from Dili to a town called Bau Cau. Can you find Bau Cau on the East Timor map that Max used when he was planning his journey? Bau Cau is on the North coast about 130 km East of Dili.

In Bau Cau Max visited the Bau Cau Teachers college. Students come to the college to train to be teachers. They begin training when they are 18 years old. Here are some students who are going to the college and training to become teachers. At the moment they are a bit nervous because its exam time and they are are studying very hard to do well.

The Bau Cau Teacher's College has a fantastic library it is called the ‘Centro de Pesquisa e Recursos’ that means "Centre for learning and resources."


Max learned how the library worked and explored the library so that he could take some ideas back to Same and help build a similar library for the teachers in Same.
Downstairs are the bookshelves and upstairs is a computer room. They have internet 1 hour a day.


After visiting the Xanana Reading Room Library and the Bau Cau Teacher's College Library they traveled back to Same with lots of ideas about how to build a resource center for Same. Here are Erika and Education Officers in Same drawing plans to build a resource center for Same.
